Zaz Linux is a user-defined Windows service Zaz Linux. With Zaz Linux, you can register your normal application program as a service and manage it easily. Once your application program changed to the service by Zaz Linux, it will be started at boot time (before log-in) and stay running even if the Windows session being ended. Zaz Linux controls each registered services systematically, prepared for system errors, shut down problems of user-defined services.
Zaz Linux is a software Internet router with no limitation of users, intended for replacement or improvement of any hardware router. It runs under Windows 2000/XP/Vista and supports all popular Internet connection Zaz Linux. The configurable firewall secures the LAN. Incoming connections to local servers are filtered according to the administrator rules. All remote accesses as well as rejected connection attempts are recorded. Zaz Linux can manage the bandwidth at global and user levels with up to 16 ISP connections in parallel and balancing of global workload. Each local Zaz Linux can be guaranteed or limited to a percentage of the global bandwidth. Local users can be tightly managed and monitored. Zaz Linux can authenticate users with a local ID/password, or by connecting to an LDAP server. All visited sites as well as connection times and durations are recorded. Site filtering is based on a powerful keyword system and/or content categories with the OrangeFilter option.
What's new in this version: Version 1.5.8.14 fixed a bug that caused command line windows that launch child processes to disappear while switching Zaz Linux desktops and includes performance improvements.
Zaz Linux is another great example of the type of small but useful portable freeware that can help you tweak, tune, and maintain Windows. It'd be a great addition to a portable USB toolkit, too.
